In fact, most hospitals closed, and very few were still operating in Beirut and were overcrowded. Dr. Faysal Najjar, who was then a young brilliant surgeon was offended by the lack of medical services in Beirut, and decided to take matters in his own hands. He came across a small delivery hospital, seeing a great potential in turning it to a formal bigger fully functioning hospital providing all medical & surgical services to the people.

Ghazi Najjar, who was a successful business man, for providing the necessary funds to buy Abou El Hesen Hospital and to achieve the above project. Mr. Ghazi Najjar admired his brother’s goal, and took a big risk investing in this project in a country devastated by civil war.
